Reloading without SOH while you have 8 guys charging at you isn't an option. If you haven't been given Sleight of Hand from the beginning, you should try to get it via the specialist package before you're one of the last remaining survivors. If you're one of the few remaining survivors, your ammo count will be one of the most important things that you have.

Assists are worthless unless you have Hardline Pro equipped. If you're shacked up with a bunch of other players in the one spot and you haven't got Hardline Pro - save your ammo. A lot of my deaths in Infected have come as a result of me trying to collect a scavenger pack at a corner or a doorway. If you have to approach a corner, approach it from a wide angle. Prone players are very easy to get with throwing knives, especially if they're in the same place they were the last time you launched an attack.Īvoid walking towards corners and doorways if you don't want to get panic knifed. When choosing a spot to defend, you should always pick a spot that a) only has one or two routes of approach and b) provides ample cover from throwing knives.ĭon't lie prone for too long. They become impatient and set out to get themselves some kills, only to be swarmed or killed by a random throwing knife. The guys that run around looking for infected players are always the first to go. You can't outrun Infected players as they'll either get you with a throwing knife to the back or they'll guess your path and cut you off.ĭon't be greedy or impatient. If you run around like Rambo, you'll probably be infected pretty quickly. Playing defensively in Infected is a must.
Get your back to a corner and wait until a two or three people have become infected. When 17 non-infected players are dispersed around a small map, an infected player is bound to spawn right next to somebody. On small maps such as Dome and Hardhat, you should brace yourself for terribly unfair spawns. If you start off with the striker, then so will the first infected player. Until a second person has become infected, the first infected player will have the same load-out as you. Why? Because the game will randomly choose somebody as the first infected player and you certainly don't want that somebody to be behind you when it happens. When the game starts, you should get your back to the wall and be suspicious of anyone that is around you.
